NEWS OF THE UNDYING

ARTIST SPOTLIGHTS & THINGS OF GENERAL IMPORTANCE

Longform, dissonant, industrial drone gaze artist At the Graves is a one-man cacophony of suffering and struggle. It is beautiful and harrowing, and while the composition continuously pushes starkness and quietness against harsh and thunderous movements, the bottom line is as heavy as it gets. Theirs is an unorthodox approach with a blatant disregard for traditional tunings. Those who love experimental noise, sludge, heavy shoegaze, and doom should find themselves delighted throughout the tormenting tracks of At the Graves. But there is no need to limit our specific interest in sound to any subgenre. Just go listen for yourself!

There is a large catalog of releases going back to the beginning of the Baltimorean project in 2009 with the latest release Pain after Pain (2019). At the Graves also has an upcoming collaboration with Myopic (DC-based Post-metal band) to be released on Grimoire Records in March 2021. If you want more, you’ll be pleased to hear that there is also an album’s worth of songs potentially set to be released later this year!

At the Graves artist, Ben Price tells us, “I feel great about the ATG/Myopic collab album. With the solo material, I want to go more in the direction of Pain After Pain and experiment more with song structure.” Ben does stream sets on the project Facebook page as well as on Instagram (links below). He mentions that the At the Graves/Myopic material will be looking to do a live stream to support the release as well.

Check out this outstanding project and all that is has to offer your tormented minds, and follow At the Graves for more!
